Introduction
The Maiden's Tower, Kız Kulesi in Turkish, occupies a small islet off Üsküdar, at the southern entrance to the Bosphorus. It has served as a watchtower, a lighthouse and a quarantine station. After a restoration begun in 2021, it reopened to the public in May 2023.
