Sainte-Chapelle
Louis the Ninth commissioned the Sainte-Chapelle within the royal palace on the Île de la Cité to house relics of the Passion of Christ, including the Crown of Thorns. The building is in the Rayonnant Gothic style and preserves medieval stained glass alongside later restorations.
