Introduction
The Süleymaniye Mosque stands on Istanbul's third hill, above the Golden Horn. Suleiman the Magnificent commissioned Sinan to build it. A colonnade surrounds the mosque's courtyard. The complex has four minarets and the mausoleums of Suleiman and Hürrem Sultan.
